About us

Our Story

Little Legacies has proudly served families in Nanaimo for over three years, building on a foundation that began more than 33 years ago. Our original company was founded by Debbie with a strong focus on supporting families and helping meet the growing need for reliable before and after school care.

Recognizing the increasing demand for quality childcare in the early years, owner Erin expanded Little Legacies to include toddler, and full day programs for children aged 3–5. Today, Little Legacies supports families through both school-age care and a centrally located daycare program on Bowen Road. TBD Infant-toddler care will be offered in the future.

Our Philosophy

At Little Legacies, the nurturing, safety, and wellbeing of every child come first.
Our daycare programs follow the Reggio Emilia approach, which emphasizes:

  • Child-led learning
  • Exploration through natural and open-ended materials
  • Respect for children as capable, curious learners

Educators guide and support each child while allowing them the freedom to explore, make choices, and grow in independence throughout their day. Learning is not about completing tasks — it’s about what children discover along the way.

We are a growing company with fresh ideas, strong values, and a deep commitment to our community.
